Kathleen Rose, CCIM, CRE: President

President of Rose & Associates Southeast, Inc., Ms. Rose combined decades of experience as a development expert and real estate analyst to build a unique consulting practice which assists public and private sector clients in the analysis and positioning of communities and projects for economic sustainability.

Ms. Rose has managed the analysis, planning, development and marketing of retail, industrial, hotel, office and mixed-use projects throughout the eastern United States. She holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute of the National Association of Realtors, an elite corps of professionals recognized for their expertise in all disciplines of commercial-investment real estate. Ms. Rose received her CCIM designation in 1989 and went on to serve on the Institute's Faculty and a as Chair on a number of national executive committees. She is past president of the Connecticut CCIM Chapter and a retired member of the North Carolina CCIM Chapter Board of Directors.

Ms. Rose has also served on the Advisory Services Panel for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is a member of National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), Charlotte and Lake Norman Chambers of Commerce. Ms. Rose has served as a General Certified Commercial Appraiser in the State of Connecticut and is currently licensed as Real Estate Broker in both North Carolina & Connecticut. Ms. Rose is also Managing Partner of Urban Organic I, LLC a property company which developed South Main Square in downtown Davidson, NC, a mixed use revitalization project which was the catalyst for forming the arts district in the South Main Street corridor. Ms. Rose’s most recent endeavor is the creation of PiES – the Project for Innovation, Energy & Sustainability, a green industries incubator to serve as a public-private partnership model for community entrepreneurial development.

Ms. Rose is licensed as both a North Carolina & Connecticut Real Estate Broker.

William McCoy, PhD: Senior Project Consultant
William J. (Bill) McCoy is the retired Director of the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute, Professor Emeritus of Political Science, and former Associate Vice Chancellor for Extended Academic Programs at UNC Charlotte.

He received B.A. and M.A. degrees from Western Kentucky University and the Ph.D. degree from The University of Tennessee. He came to UNC Charlotte in 1970 as an Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department. In 1979, Dr. McCoy joined the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute on a part-time basis and was named its Director in 1985. He retired from that position in 2001. He was selected for the North Carolina National Bank (Bank of America) Teaching Award in 1974.

Among community activities, he served on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission for six years, chaired the Citizens Advisory Committee for the 2005 Transportation Plan, served on the Planning Board of the Town of Davidson and began a term of chair of that board in January 2005, and served five years as the Executive Director of Leadership Charlotte. He either currently or has served on the Board of Directors of Leadership Charlotte, the Carolinas Land Conservation Network, Central Carolinas Choices, the Charlotte Chamber, WFAE, the University City Area Council, the University City YMCA, Child Care Resources Inc., Grier Heights Economic Foundation, and the Advisory Board of Warren Wilson College's Environmental Leadership Center.

Casey Pleura LEED® AP: Project Administrator
Ms. Peura is knowledgeable in environmental and energy sustainability, as well as social capital theory and crime prevention through environmental design. She has experience in conceptual design, comprehensive Master Planning and has participated in design Charrettes.

Project Administrator Miss Peura is a dedicated, experienced professional with strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills. She brings critical thinking, creative problem solving and planning to any project. Ms. Peura is knowledgeable in environmental and energy sustainability, as well as social capital theory and crime prevention through environmental design. She has experience in conceptual design, comprehensive Master Planning and has participated in design Charrettes.

She holds a Master's in Architecture Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
